Pür Minerals Big Blink Mascara Review

* I have been trying to commit to the 6 month mascara rule i.e mascara only have a 6 month once opened sell by date and then you should bin them. I was trying really hard but when I was not getting the results I wanted from Cargo Texas Lash Mascara I had to open another one.

I am so glad I did, I am in love with this mascara. The packaging is super cure and girly with its pink bottle and silver lid. The wand is a plastic one with short bristle with some pointing left and others right. It has a few short bristle at the tip, I presume their for the shorter lashes on the corners of the eye, but I find them too short for this and end up poking myself in the eye.

So whats different about this mascara its the first one that claims to be clump resistant that actually is clump resistant. Its cruelty free which we all love. But above all this it contains an ingredient that till now I have only seen in haircare. Lashes are hair though so is it technically haircare? 

Big Lash contains Argan Oil which Pür states;

"A revolutionary ingredient loaded with vitamin E, antioxidants and omega 3 and 9 fatty acids to hydrate, protect and repair lashes."

The one con about it I always end up with black dots on my skin because my lashes get so long and curled, not a con I should really complain about eh?

As promised a comparison of the Cargo Texas Lash and Pür Minerals Big Blink. As you can see the lashes are much more separated and fanned out. Also considerably longer!

At the moment I have only been able to find this mascara on the Pür minerals website. http://www.purminerals.com/Big-Blink-Mascara which by the looks of things they do not deliver outside of the U.S. Which makes me believe this is not available yet on our Irish shores. 

Cargo Texas Lash Mascara Review

*Cargo was the brand I was most impressed with at the Wizard PR event. There range of makeup and clever packing on some of their products had me from the word go. I received a sample of the Cargo Texas Lash Mascara in my goodie bag to review.

As from the above picture Texas Lash guarantees longer and voluminous looking lashes. Sure you know the saying ''Everythings bigger in Texas''

The brush is a regular bristle brush rather on the large side. not my favourite kind of brush if I am honest. The packaging is extremely plain black with white writing and stripe. Simplistic to say the least.

So what do I think about the mascara? Well its just ''Meh!'' I do not find my lashes to be any longer or voluminous. Its kind of just coats them and gives them a little lift. I usually find with a good mascara they make my eyes almost doll like with length. Texas Lash fails to do this and basically makes my lashes darker.

I have been using this for a day mascara as I do not want to waste the mascara and seen as they only have a 6 month shelf life I really hate to waste it. Cargo Cosmetics is available on the Debenhams website, the Texas Lash Mascara is 15 euro.

Tomorrow I will have a review of another mascara and I will have a comparison photo of the two mascaras in the post also.

Face of the Night: Purple Smoke

Another work makeup face. I try to keep it all about the eyes in work as going for a strong lip is no use as it gets so busy I never get to top up the lippy. So smokey eyes and nude lips work best. These two photos are from Friday and Saturday I did the same look just switched up the lip color on either night.

Beauty Show Haul

Eventually made it to the beauty show today, I was supposed to go on Sunday with my friend Amy but I started to feel ill in work on Saturday night and woke up Sunday morning with a god awful flu. Got up this morning and even though my throat felt like razors I really did not want to miss out.

This year I did not go too wild and only picked up a few necessity's.

I got these packs of lashes at 1 euro each, yes that's only 50 cent a lash total bargain. It was just from one them no branded stalls and they were in a basket on the floor. If they had of had any more styles I would have taken the lot.

Picked up 3 small nail glitters for 2 euro each just for some experimenting.

Was in need of new individual lashes and especially with the birthday coming up got short medium and long they were 3 for 2 so got the lot for under 8 euro.

Opi was there and you can not bypass their stall with out picking something up. I got the top and base coat at 6 euro each and the shade The Living Daylights from the Skyfall Collection for 4.50. Its glitter I could not say no

As always a trip to crown is needed I picked up 3 eyeliner brushes at 3 euro each and also a smaller blusher brush for my mam for mothers day at 6 euro. Did not go too wild as they will be at imats in London in June and I will be heading there with a long list.

This was my only kind of spur of the moment buy of the day. Back in September my sister bought me sleep in rollers for my bride maids duties at her wedding. (Subtle hints were left) I have yet to do a review on them due to the fact I was slightly dissapointed in the I was not getting the curl I wanted from them. So I headed over to the sleep in roller stand to see if I was doing anything wrong. Low and behold I have now own a Sleep in Roller  Hairdryer Hood which set me back 15 euro. Now I am trying not to get my hopes up to much but I will do a review on the whole set in the next coming weeks. Fingers crossed I will have Big Bouncy Curly hair!

Metamorphosis Lashes

A few weeks ago I saw Marijanna Martin Makeup on Facebook offer free samples* to other MUAs of her new range of lashes.  I quickly jumped at the chance, as you all know I am a big fan of lashes the bigger the better and I am constantly on the look out for good affordable lashes.

Notice something? All styles are named after iconic Hollywood screen sirens. They are perfect for creating vintage looks as well as amping up your Saturday night makeup. 

Here I am wearing Vivienne-Leigh lashes which are my upmost favorite of all three. For such a full lash you would expect for them to weigh down your eyes. but Metamorphosis lashes are so light and have thin bands. That not only are they easy to apply but they blend in naturally with your own lashes and there is none of that lazy eye effect you can get with badly made lashes. Also no need to track with eyeliner.

In this picture I am wearing Marilyn, as you can see I also have some lashes on the bottom. These are the ends of the Marilyn lashes that instead of throwing away I kept after cutting the lash to shape. Waste not want not!

Unfortunately I had a problem with my camera and my pictures of Audrey lashes were lost and then I misplaced one of the lashes. But what I can say about wearing them is they were light weight , they stayed on all night, they were not my favorite lash but that was nothing to do with the making of them just personal preference. 

I can most defiantly say I will be ordering all 3 sets of lashes again for my kit, and myself. If good care is taken of these lashes they can last up to ten times. Ive worn Vivienne-Leigh 5 times now and their still going strong. (Good care does not mean yanking them off in that sexy move you do in front of your boy before bedtime).

I am expecting big things from this company if these lashes are anything to go by. I can not wait to see what styles Marijanna comes out with next as her makeup artistry is very creative and out of the box and would love to see that reflected in her lashes.

Faces of December/ Christmas/New Years

Another faces post, I rather like doing these more then face of the day post so I will probably do these monthly from now on. As some of you might not know I work in a nightclub and a little requirement is to dress to impress or as my manager puts it "Sex Sells". Some of you my find that derogatory but the fact is I adore my job and getting to play around with looks that I may only get to wear when I am heading out with the girlos is soo much fun! And frankly all I do is serve drinks and throw a few bottles around!

New year I said I needed to start experimenting more with colors and start wearing blue which is a color I can not stand for some reason and try veer away from my normal smokey eye look. Slowly but surely I am getting there and I am even wearing out the blue in public.

A Little Something For Halloween! Black Widow Inspired!

This is a very quick and simple look I did the other day while I was playing with some makeup, its not perfect some of the details need tiding up but taught it was worth showing if some of you still need ideas for this All Hallows Eve!

Everything I used will be in your makeup bag already so no need to head out and buy new makeup and anything you may not have i.e purple lipstick just improvise with a different color, a red lip will look good here also.

Master Pro Lash Comb

As you know I won a $250 voucher for Royal and Langnickel brushes before Christmas. I posted a picture of them here. I got around 50 brushes and I still have not used all of them. I have used quite a few and I have to say I am really impressed with their quality! I mostly picked brushes from their SILK range as I had heard these were best for pro artists and really luxurious, the reviews were not wrong!

I did however pick up this lash comb from their Master Pro range. Wayne Goss or as known gossmakeupartist on YouTube had done a video using a metal comb like this. He claimed it would give beautiful separated lashes that were not clumpy or weighed down and held a great curl. I was instantly curious so when my brushes arrived this was the first one I used.

Boy, he was not wrong! In my opinion my lashes are more fanned out, there's no sign of clumping or spider lashes and each lash is coated nicely. I used Maybelline Falsies mascara in both pictures.

Now I will say if your all a bit squirmy with things touching your eyes or you apply your mascara in a hurry this technique is not for you! This comb is metal and you are coating your lashes from the root up so you feel metal on your skin. Your also working close to your eye so doing this technique quickly can seriously lead to some major accidents!

But if you have the patience and really want beautiful lashes I would suggest investing in one of these comb. They are available on the Royal and Langnickel website for £5.99. Or if your heading to the Irish Beauty Show in March there will be a Royal and Langnickel stand there.
