Things That Just Ain't Working For Me! #1

You can not expect everything to work for you right, sometimes they do not suit your skin type or it's the wrong shade for you in makeup and what not. Sometimes products Really Do Not Work and they are just absolutely awful!

So here is a new mini series on the blog a few products I have been trying out lately that are just awful. I will post one each week or so.

Viviscal Gentle Shampoo and Moisturising Conditioner, I had received these in a goody bag at a blogger meetup and had high hopes for them but they did not live up to my standards at all. First of all the shampoo, it took at least three big squirts of it in my hair before I got anything resembling a lather/foam, I found it hard to spread around my head and after washing it out I never truly felt my hair was clean.
I tried to capture the little plastic bits but it did not work.

The conditioner, oh boy the conditioner! It is horrendous! Again I found it hard to spread and this also contained something I have never experienced before in Hair care. It felt as if it contained tiny bits of plastic in the liquid. I could feel them when I squirted some out into my hand but even when I tried to spread it throughout my hair I could still feel them. At first I thought it was something in the formula that was to dissolve but even when washing out they were still there.

Viviscal do say in their press release that you will experience less of a lather but I barely saw any lather at all. Also on top of this they claim these will condition the hair from root to tip add volume and shine and all round much healthier hair.

All I experienced was greasy hair a day later and lather less shampoo and some really difficult bottles to squeeze with my tiny hands!

Would I pay €11.95 each for 200ml, not a hope!

In Love with Avons Moroccan Argan Oil Haircare!

As you all know I am a big fan of Avon, and my reviews on their products are some of my most popular on the blog. So when I got some Avon goodies off my two nieces for Christmas I was super delighted. In this bundle was the Avon Moroccan Argan Oil shampoo, conditioner and leave in treatment. So Christmas morning after all the kiddies presents were open and I had a little snooze( as you know I work nights so waking up on Christmas morn at 9 am was tough) I hoped in the shower with my goodies!

Seeing my sister had already had some of the shampoo and conditioner in open I used hers instead ( sorry sis!) sure it's the same stuff. Washed my hair as normal left the conditioner in for two minutes and rinsed out. Towel dried my hair and popped a good malteeser size amount of the leave in treatment in my hand rubbed together and rubbed and combed through out my hair. Blow dried as normal and then I popped into a plait. I was so distracted by the thoughts of dinner I literally forgot about thinking about the product and how my hair was! So Stephens morning was when I noticed it was still really shiny and soft and smelled good even though I was in the kitchen most of Christmas morning.

So this morning I did the whole routine again and by gosh my hair is looking great. It's so shiny and smooth even with the gales out there. After blow drying it barely kinked out which surprised me because since the balayage it has not been staying straight as it used to and was becoming very dry. So now I am in love and I think this will be my go to hair care for the next while anyway.

Prices: Avon has a sale on for the next 5 days so get ordering quick for these amazing prices
Shampoo €1.80 normally €3.60
Conditioner €1.80 normally €3.60

I Can Not Live Without This!!

I first discovered Batiste when I was in Secondary School so a long time ago and forever since I have never been without a bottle. It is literally my best friend, I use it at least once a week and it has never let me down. If you do not know what Batiste is Where Have You Been???

Batiste is a dry shampoo spray, not only does it absorb the oil from your hair but it also give your hair a bit of a boost. Ever wash your  hair on Monday and you wake up Tuesday morning and its greasy. Your not the only one it happens I find my hair goes like that when  I play with my hair alot or I am in a smokey room or after a night out. I refuse to wash my hair everyday because

1. Its a vibrant color and washing it alot strips the color
2. My hair gets dry when its washed to much
3. I have not got the pennies to buy more shampoo and conditioner twice as much as I already do
4. I can not be bothered takes to long to wash dry and style it and I am a busy women!!!

So this is where Batiste comes in handy at only 3.50 a can and really available everywhere( even ALDI now!)
its a steal and last a good while too depending on how much you use it. Over the years its grown as a brand and now includes sprays especially designed for brunettes, blonde's and light browns which is great because sometimes if I was in a rush some of the white spray I missed would still b noticeable in my hair and with the brunette spray now I never have that problem.

They have just launched a gold shimmer spray here in Ireland which not only cleans your hair but gives it a gold shimmer which is great for Christmas. Truthfully I do not know weather this one is for me as I would only spray this is my roots and would rather not have people know I used Batiste so having some gold shopping around my roots would be a sure giveaway! But each to their own!

If you do not own a can of Batiste go get one now you can even buy a travel size for your handbag for €1.50!
